Gisele teaches Portuguese as a non-native language and works in online education with students of various nationalities. She holds a Master's in teaching Portuguese as a non-native language at the University of Minho in Portugal, a Bachelor's degree in Language and Literature from UERJ and a postgraduate certificate in Distance Education. Hello. I am an European Portuguese teacher.
I am an experienced and certified teacher of Portuguese and English and I have been teaching in the public school system since 1995. I have also been teaching online for the last five years.
I truly believe that 'practise makes perfect', so the more you practise speaking a language, the better you'll do it! I always have a sequence of contents ready to use but I believe it is better to teach according to the student's needs and interests.
I have experience in:
- teaching beginners with no knowledge of the language,
- preparing students for the CIPLE exam (or DIPLE, DEPLE and DUPLE),
- teaching business portuguese,
- improving communication skills: speaking and listening, as well as reading and writing.

I am Brazilian from Minas Gerais.
I enjoy teaching in a non-dogmatic way adapting lessons to each student's style and preferences to make them more relaxed and enjoyable giving the student the freedom to practice speaking from the first classes. For beginners, I use my own materials to structure the lessons, sharing the material and exercises with students, and from the beginning, I emphasize conversation, giving students the freedom to practice speaking. Intermediate to advanced levels, we focus on conversation, necessary corrections, and I always give tips on interesting content to expand your vocabulary.
I love what I do, and today I teach people from all over the world to speak my native language and learn more about Brazil and Brazilian culture.
