Hi! My name is Martina and I am from Valencia (Spain). I lived in Mainz and Berlin (Germany) for two years and right now I'm living in Belgrade (Serbia). I hold BA in Philosophy and MA in Bioethics and both reflect hugely on ways I understand and interpret the world around me, besides that in more formal way – part of my academic curriculum was CAP (pedagogical aptitude) which certifies me to be a teacher.
I have been teaching different subjects (not only Spanish for foreigners) for more than 8 years now and I taught almost all demographic groups. Teaching is my passion and I learn and strive to be better in it every day. I'm Hugo, from Vigo — a city on the Atlantic coast of Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. I've been teaching Spanish for ten years, to students from over 30 countries, and I still find it one of the most interesting things I do.
Languages have always been central to my life. I've lived, studied and worked in Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Canada — and those experiences shaped the way I teach more than any certificate did. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked in engineering, hospitality and education. At some point I stopped pretending those were leading somewhere else.
My lessons are personal, flexible and human. I don't give the same class to every student. I try to understand who you are, how you learn, what you need and what kind of relationship you want to have with Spanish — and I build from there.
