Since becoming TEFL qualified in 2018, I have been teaching English to A1-C1 students of all ages at a language centre in Mexico, including preparation for IELTS and Cambridge Exams, Business English, English in Tourism and bespoke Customer Service courses. I’m Kevin Palmer. in 2002, at my first teaching job, I had a student named Ning. Ning was wonderful. She was intelligent, friendly, and she worked hard. Every day she studied English textbooks for 4 hours! She tried to remember 50 new vocabulary words every day! But, after 6 months of hard work, she still could not speak. Sadly, this was true for all of the students in the class. I felt terrible. So I asked other teachers for help. But they had the same problem.. very few of their students improved either. That’s when I realized something was wrong– something is wrong with normal English teaching methods. Hi! I'm Louise. I'm originally from Cambridge in the UK but since becoming a teacher in 2007 I have lived and worked in Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Romania where I currently live. I have a masters degree in anthropology and a Trinity CertTESOL from Trinity college London.
