My name is Ashley Thompson. I'm a native English speaker from Jamaica, the country of the fastest man on earth, Usain Bolt! I'm 27 years old and I'm currently living my dream of traveling the world. I love meeting new people, learning about new cultures, writing and traveling. I'm fascinated by new opportunities and challenges, and I'm always seeking new ways to improve myself and share my talents with others.
I'm a graduate of the University of the West Indies where I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations (Major), Political Leadership, Strategy and Management (Minor). I am also TESOL certified (120 hours) and therefore ready to meet each students' language needs. In my spare time, I enjoy teaching students worldwide online. I engage them in one-on-one and group classes which are geared towards developing their communication, critical thinking and technical skills. My teaching style covers a wide range of conversation topics such as business, travel, current affairs, music, cinema, culture, even biology or geography.
I've worked in the classroom for over 6 years, teaching group classes of 20-30 students at the early childhood and adult level. For the past 3years, I've been teaching English to adults & children in Asia. I also have experience teaching in online interactions on Preply and Skype with students worldwide, teaching general, conversational, business and specialized English. I've also worked with students who were preparing for local and international exams such as IELTS.
