I am a German native and was brought up in the North of Germany. I now live in beautiful Cornwall on the South-West coast of England.
My love for everything to do with travelling, exploring different cultures and learning new languages, has led me to teaching German. I have lived in many different countries and have travelled a fair bit too.
I have been helping private students to improve their language skills since 2012.

In the classroom we are told to endlessly study grammar and memorise concepts, however, research shows that language is acquired through authentic experiences. My teaching method is based on Dr. Stephen Krashen´s second language acquisition theory, in which one uses comprehensible input to acquire a language, rather than 'learn' it. Comprehensible language input can be either listening or reading content in your target language that helps you understand the context despite not understanding every word and structure at first. I combine this type of input with additional learning material to enhance your listening skills and the learning process. With this method, you will notice faster progress while learning how to speak more like a native, and most importantly, acquiring German will be a fun experience rather than a tedious drill.

Hey there! My name is Carina and I have been teaching German as a foreign language for over 5 years now.
I was born and raised in the south of Germany but moved to Vietnam to teach German and English. At the moment I'm living in Vienna to study Geography.

Guten Tag,
my name is Michalis, or Mike for short, and I am 32 years old. I am half German, half Cypriot, raised in Cyprus and have been a private German teacher for the past 3 years, as a native speaker and holder of the C2 Certificate in German. Initially I studied to be an engineer but soon after realised that I would rather teach Languages as I am very keen on learning foreign languages myself, and love passing on knowledge.
