Now, I do this almost as a community service. My books and lessons are low-priced so that it is easier for people to gain access to my coaching.
I used to coach for free, and I found that when my lessons were free, people did not take them seriously and did not do the work. I priced my lessons below $29 USD per hour, and got the same result. When I raised my prices to $145 per hour, I could only help the wealthy, and the people who could not afford that price missed out. When I lowered my classes to $49 per lesson, this seemed to be the perfect median price.
Most people take one class a week. I recommend three, but due to their situation they only take one. I make sure they do their homework, and when they follow the steps, they achieve their desired result in 8 to 12 lessons. It is not as fast as three lessons a week, but it is good enough to meet their goals. The best part for me is that they did not spend a lot of money, and they will never need another language coach again for the rest of their lives, no matter what language they want to learn. Once they finish with me, they know how to learn any language quickly and easily.
