Perché si dice…”Fare il biscotto”

Questa espressione viene solitamente utilizzata in campo sportivo e con essa si indica una situazione nella quale due squadre (nel calcio) o due singole persone (nel caso di altri sport), si mettono d’accordo per trarne vantaggio reciproco a svantaggio di altre società o persone.  “Preparare un biscotto” è diventato così sinonimo di combine, di “truccare a proprio vantaggio” l’esito di una gara. Ma da dove deriva questa espressione?  Questo modo di dire deriva dal mondo dell’ippica, in particolare dagli ambienti delle scommesse clandestine. Il “biscotto” in questione sarebbe una galletta, impastata con sostanze proibite (stimolanti o sedative), che viene dato da mangiare a uno o più cavalli prima della gara, per alterare il risultato della competizione per guadagnare dalle scommesse.
