My name is Kelsey and I am a native English speaker from Ohio, USA. Currently, I am located in Seattle, Washington bringing my love of teaching to elementary youth in the local schools. I have been teaching for 5 years within Washington State. I have experience teaching non native English speakers as well as children with language delays. Teaching English to students with language delays has taught me to break down the English language into simplified terms so that the speaker has more success in their learning of how to speak and understand English. I have experience teaching conversational English as well as English that you will need while traveling or just in daily life. We can work on pronunciation, intonation, idioms, and colloquials as they are all a bonus specialty of mine. When you book a lesson, let me know your level of English (beginner, intermediate) and also how you prefer to learn. As a teacher, I am accommodating to your goals and learning style. Let's have a conversation and figure out the best way for you to learn English!

Coupon available for students (message me for the code and explanation) if you buy a package of 5 classes. My name is Mary and I have been teaching ESL for four and a half years. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Ohio University (USA) in 2013 with a minor in Linguistics and a TEFL Certification. I then worked for a non-profit organization, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, teaching English to refugees from all over the world. After this position, I travelled to Cuenca, Ecuador and taught for a non-profit organization, CEDEI, for a year and a half. Both job experiences I had in this field prior did not have a lot of options for technology in the classroom but when I can I like to include articles, videos, speeches, use of Microsoft word in the classroom. I have now been teaching on Verbling Inc. for more than a year. I am very excited to continue teaching online to open up the possibilities to have a multi-media classroom. I also think that speaking and listening are the key to fluency and like to put strong emphasis on speaking practice: debates, conversation, and presentations. I also have experience with teaching paragraph structure, essay structure, and different styles of essays. I have taught grammar at all levels, also. I try to keep classes interesting with a mixture of activities and with minimal stress but well rounded knowledge of the language. My policy for missed lessons: I will wait 10 minutes for a student to arrive. If it is the first (or second for regular students) missed class and the student messages me with a reason, I will unschedule the lesson so that the student can reschedule. If this happens more than once or twice I will keep the payment for the wait time and preparation. I understand things happen, so I will forgive, once or twice of course, but I also prepare for the lessons and this is my full time job.

Hello, and thank you for considering me on your English-learning journey! I teach adults who are of intermediate-advanced level. I do not teach beginners, sorry about that! (It's just because I haven't had the right training for that). My teaching style is relaxed, patient, and engaging. I make lessons comfortable and interesting for students, but I will also correct your mistakes and challenge you. I respect each student's learning style and can adapt to suit different goals and interests. I believe in a natural, simple approach to improving English ability. For example, if you are worried about an upcoming conversation with your new boss, I will take the role of your boss and we will practice that conversation until you feel confident with it. My classes are usually conversation-based. I don't give lecture classes, and I don't have a curriculum or syllabus, but I always end up talking about grammar, idioms, vocabulary, and pronunciation in the process of having a conversation with students. If you have something specific you need to prepare for, such as an upcoming interview or presentation, I can definitely help you with that! I am also happy to answer any questions you have about material you are learning in other English classes or by yourself, and help with document editing/proofreading. I have a lot of travel experience, especially in Asia, Europe, and Mexico, which has made me comfortable relating to all kinds of people. I enjoy getting to know my students' personalities and cultures, and inspiring them to reach for their dreams! A little about me and my interests: I love reading, writing, philosophy, animals, and music (I play violin). I'm currently living a nomadic life, traveling to a different country every 3 months. All the best! -Sylvie

Hi everyone! My name is Gayle and I am an enthusiastic, motivated English teacher from the North East of England. I have a TEFL qualification and a PGCE in modern languages. I taught languages in secondary schools in the UK before moving to Spain and I have been teaching English to Spanish students here for about 10 years. I teach everything from beginners to advanced English and have taught a range of ages and abilities. My main focus has been improving speaking confidence and fluency but I also teach exam preparation and business English. I am patient, friendly and helpful, that is what I am here for to help you achieve your English learning goals. I like to base lessons around speaking as I feel that is the best way to improve your confidence but I also use a whole range of interesting authentic materials such as video and articles. I can also help with your writing and we will study grammar as we go along, the most important thing is for you to be speaking. Each lesson is prepared with you in mind, we will study what you need based on your interests and needs. Outside of the classroom I enjoy walking, mountain biking and cooking with my family, I live in Spain so also speak Spanish, I speak a bit of German and French. I love music and I am learning to play the guitar. I look forward to meeting you online and helping you achieve your goals in English so don't be shy, tell me what you need and let's begin!

Hi. My name is Martin. I'm British and come from the south of England but I was educated in Manchester, in the north of England. You might have heard of Manchester but you may not know much about it. Aside from being the home of two world class football teams, the city is an historical hub of innovation, science and progress. The old Victorian saying, "What Manchester thinks today, the world does tomorrow." still applies today to some extent. Google 'graphene', if you're interested. I hope our classes can reflect that spirit. I aim to push your English beyond the boundaries of what you think is possible. I have lived and worked abroad: Firstly, as a property salesman in Germany and then later as an English teacher at a secondary school in Austria. I have also spent quite a long time in Japan in addition to having visited many more countries including: the USA, Hungary, Slovenia, Spain, France, Belgium, Egypt, Belarus, The Czech Republic, Malta and the Republic of Ireland. I have been teaching English online for more than 7 years to many students from all walks of life and from all over the world. Some have wanted to improve their General English and conversation, some have needed to pass an exam such as IELTS and some have required pronunciation training and/or to brush up on their Business English. Whatever your needs, I would love to help you with your English. I am a graduate of the University of Manchester, where I studied Modern Languages and Business Management (specialising in German as my main foreign language). I hold a Cambridge CELTA and am therefore qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language. Additionally, I graduated with a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status in the summer of 2018, which qualifies me to teach in British secondary schools (high schools). I look forward to meeting you very soon!
