"Pretḁ" (hungry Ghost), the supernatural being in Buddhist beliefs (Thai Study).

Pretḁ (from Sanskrit language), (Pret in Thai language) also known as hungry ghost, is the name for a type of supernatural being described in Hinduism, Buddhism. A transient state between death and obtaining karmic rebirth in accordance with the person's fate in previous life deed.

Preta ghost in Thailand is believed to happen to those who have hit and scolded their parents or corrupted greedily while they were alive. After death, by a result of karma, they are afflicted with an insatiable hunger but are not able to eat due to the mouth cavity becomes small as a needle hole even though the deceased's family engages in rituals and offerings to help them be full somehow.

Some Pretas are overarched above their head by the circle-sharpen weapon (Kong-Jakkra), which slashes them to repeatedly death and rebirth in Samsara (cycle of death & rebirth).

In Thailand, there are various soap operas & TV dramas that seem vacuous plots. Yet, you can still find productive dramas related to karma and deed. One of the productive-popular dramas names "Pret of Wat Suthat (เปรตวัดสุทัศน์)" which presented in 2003, describes how your bad deed brings you into Preta; a transient state after death but suffering as if it happens eternally.

🏅 WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM LESSONS WITH ME? ֎ A friendly teacher & Fluent in English speaking, writing. ֎ Help you to build your confidence when speaking and help you to improve Thai accent & correct your pronunciation. ֎ You can raise up the question at all times during a classroom. there is homework after a classroom is finished (of course, just proposed not imposed) ֎ I found that there are Thai Teaching books to foreigners or even websites giving you lots of sentences without explaining to you the grammatical structure or roots. You can copy their sentences to speak but may not be able to adapt for a better talk when you encounter a different situation. So, I created by myself the teaching structure through my own materials like PDF, Google.doc that you can retrieve the document whenever you want. ֎ I also found some outdated teaching styles for example, "Kam-lang" means doing something (present continuous Tense). Even though it’s correct and many foreign students are taught to use it, meanwhile native Thais use only "Yùu" at the end of sentences to mean doing something. Because actually, "Kam-lang" is used when you are going to do something but not when you are doing something, or it is used just to emphasize "Yùu" (except you are being............, then we use "Kam-lang"). Thus, my goal is to have you talk Thai like Native Thais do. 🏅 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES ֎ Almost 2-year teaching Thai to foreigners from beginner to expert level, focusing on speaking & listening skills which are more useful to the daily situations when you are in Thailand. ֎ Over 10-year experience in the Marketing Department to 5 Stars Hotels & 2 International Airlines.
