Why Can't I Speak English?
You've been learning English language for years, you've taken many classes that have helped you learn more grammar, more vocabulary, reading and writing, and yet you have trouble speaking English.
The answer to the question "Why Can't I Speak English?" is actually in the first paragraph of this article.
The answer is that you learned reading and writing first before you learned to speak.
Think about this... when you learned your first language did you learn to read and write before speaking? Of course not, we all learned to speak first and we learned some basic speaking skills and rules before we ever started to read or write our native language.
Example
My example about why it's important to learn to speak first is in the way I learned Thai language. I spent years learning how to speak Thai before I learned reading and writing.
When I speak Thai I sound more natural in how I speak and how I pronounce the words when I speak. In fact I even have an accent from the region where I learned to speak Thai. So when I'm in other places in Thailand the people I speak to can tell that I learned Thai with an Issan (Northeastern Thailand) accent.
One of the biggest thrills for me was when we were at a local market and talking with the stall owner, her two boys were looking at me with a puzzled expression on their face... their mother asked what's wrong with them... they have seen many foreigners. Their response was: looks like foreigner but speaks like Thai people.
So now you know one of the main problems that is stopping you from speaking English.
How do we fix the problem?
Simply by using an English language coach. Someone who can "coach" you on how to take your knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary and turn these into real speaking skills.

Think about it this way... when you learned how to play football you learned most of the rules of football and you learned how to play from friends and family.
But when you joined a real football team or a league and you had a real "football coach" that's when you really became good at playing football. Because you now had someone who knew how to make great football players from good football players... someone who knows how to coach!
