안 is used just before the verb or adjective and it has a role to negate the verb or the adjective.
예쁘다 → 안 예쁘다 not pretty
바쁘다 → 안 바쁘다 not busy
무겁다 → 안 무겁다 not heavy
깊다 → 안 깊다 not deep
달다 → 안 달다 not sweet
짜다 → 안 짜다 not salty
어둡다 → 안 어둡다 not dark
많다 → 안 많다 not many
먹다 → 안 먹다 not eat
자다 → 안 자다 not sleep
보다 → 안 보다 not see
사다 → 안 사다 not buy
듣다 → 안 듣다 not hear/listen to
오다 → 안 오다 not come
Usually for 하다 verbs, the 안 is placed immediately before 하다. If it is a combined word with noun and verb, you can add 안 between noun and 하다
공부하다 (to study) → 공부 안 하다
전화하다 (to call on the phone) → 전화 안 하다
청소하다 (to clean) → 청소 안 하다
숙제하다(to do homework) → 숙제 안 하다
거짓말하다(to tell a lie) → 거짓말 안 하다
지각하다(to be late for class or work) → 지각 안 하다
밥하다(to make rice or meal) →밥 안 하다
