Has been with vs had

Hey, I still have problems with Simple Past/Present Perfect. Sometimes I don't know which one to use. I know they "rules", but sometimes it isn't so clear (for me). 

Which one is correct:

Should I care how many guys my girlfriend has been with ?

Vs.

Should I care how many guys my girlfriend had ? 

Its a finished action but it has a connection to the present, so I'm confused.
