How do you celebrate the winter holidays in your country?

Each culture has their own unique ways of celebrating the winter holidays. Some have religious holidays, others have the New Year at a different time, but we all celebrate some way or another. I'm very interested in knowing how each culture celebrates and what customs you have!

Is there a special food that you eat?
Do you get together with family or friends?
Do you give out presents?
Do you go to church, temple, or mosque and pray?
