Italian Christmas tradition: il presepe

Christmas is coming and people are decorating their houses with Christmas trees, wreaths, lights and Christmas stockings.
In Italy there’s a particular decoration, a representation of the nativity scene called “presepe”. This tradition was born in Italy in XIII century and spread in several areas of the world, especially in areas where catholics are the majority of the population.
You can see a presepe in most of Italian people’s houses and there are different variations depending on regional traditions.
Probably the most famous type of presepe is the one you can find in Naples. Here during Christmas period there’s a whole street where artisans exhibit their works: it’s called Via San Gregorio Armeno and attracts many tourists all over the world! Have you ever been there?
