6 years agoTo what extent do you practice extracting meaning from all world Englishes?
With increasing globalization, learners of English will interact with people from many countries whose standard form of English will be different from the standards held for British or American English. How are teachers preparing students to understand and extract meaning from English speakers whose sentences do not match the British or American standards, or whose accents are variations which students are not accustomed to hearing?
How are English learners preparing themselves to successfully interact with all users of English whom you will encounter professionally, or in the services industries?
