Tales of the Unexpected by Roal Dahl

I would recommend Tales of the Unexpected by Roald Dahl. It is a collection of short stories all with unexpected endings. I'd recommend short stories because they are easier to read if you are learning the language.

This particular book is more suited to upper intermediate (B2) to advanced (C1/C2) learners as the vocabulary is quite challenging. There is some excellent language used in the stories and so it would be a great way to expand your vocabulary range. Roald Dahl is a fantasic author and is well known for his excellent use of descriptive language. Also, every short story in the book is a gripping page turner (you can't stop reading it)! The stories are very well written and are appealing to everyone.
