Spanish Tip of the Week: "Ser" vs. "Estar"

One of the biggest challenges for Spanish learners is knowing when to use ser and estar. Both mean "to be", but they are used differently.

Ser = permanent characteristics or identity.
  • She is a doctor. → Ella es doctora.
Estar = temporary states or locations.
  • She is tired. → Ella está cansada.
💡 Remember:
SER = Who you are. ESTAR = How you are or where you are.
