United States Independence Day Vocabulary

On July 4, Americans across the United States celebrate the nation's Independence Day. We commonly refer to this holiday as the "Fourth of July."  The Fourth of July celebrates the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a document which announced the United States' separation from Britain. The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776.
