Using the word MILLON, MILLONES correctly

When you say numbers that finish in the word “millón” or “millones” you MUST say DE  and  the thing you are talking about. In other cases DE is not necessary 

Esta ciudad tiene más de 3 MILLONES DE habitantes👍👍👍
Esta ciudad tiene más de 3 MILLONES 50 mil (DE) habitantes (incorrect)
En esta campaña se repartieron un MILLÓN DE volantes 👍👍👍👍
En esta campaña se repartieron un MILLÓN 500  (de) volantes (incorrect)
