WHAT MAKES the English Language so CRAZY?!?!

Pronouncing words that end in "ough" like cough, bough, rough, dough, through, thought...

Why is the letter "W" called a double U when it looks like a double "V"?

The word "queue" is just a "q" followed by four silent letters.

Why does the word "fridge" have the letter "d" in it, but "refrigerator" does not?

Is the "s" or "c" in the word "scent" silent?

Why have a silent letter "b" in words like debt, doubt, subtle, bomb, climb, comb, crumb, dumb, lamb, limb, numb, plumb, thumb, and tomb?

Not to mention different pronunciations for the words bomb, comb, and tomb.

And remember, you can drink a drink but you can't food a food.

Any more examples?
