Would you rather...

You may know how to ask someone if they prefer one thing over another, but there is another way to ask this that you may not know.

[prefer + noun]
Do you prefer tea or coffee?
Example Answer: "I prefer coffee."
[prefer + to + infinitive]
Do you prefer to drink tea or coffee?
Example Answer: "I prefer to drink coffee."

"Would you rather" works differently as it cannot be followed by a noun.
Would you rather tea or coffee? [incorrect]

Instead, it should be followed by an infinitive without "to".
Would you rather drink tea or coffee?
Meaning: Do you prefer to drink tea or coffee?
Example Answer: I would rather drink coffee?

With that in mind, you are ready to answer some fun questions.
