Your favourite words that you wish existed in English.
6 years agoSo, one thing that fascinates me in other languages, whether I speak them or not, are words that we don't have in English.
As simple as it may seem, some of my favourite words in Spanish are the verbs: desayunar, almorzar and cenar. Being someone who is very attached to food, I wish these verbs had an English equivalent.
Even though I don't speak Portuguese, two words I really enjoyed learning about were saudade which is so hard to explain in English because it carries so much emotional weight and cafuné which, as far as I know, represents a loving caress or running your fingers through someone's hair.
So, my question is, now that you speak English, what words in your first language do you wish we had?
