I was a tenured professor of Chinese language, literature, culture, and cinema at UT Austin before returning to the west coast to be with my family. A published author in both English and Chinese, I am enthusiastic about helping you become an even more effective communicator in Chinese, in writing or speaking or both! I have interpreted for a few Chinese writers when they came to the US on a book tour. I can't wait to work with you as you reach your linguistic goals.

I have eight years experience teaching Chinese, including professionals in various industries, students in universities. Communicating in contexts while using new words/ grammar repeatedly is the efficient and fun way to get your Chinese upgraded. I have taught many expatriates from different countries in Taiwan and China and helped them with Mandarin skills needed from daily life to working situations in different industries. I grew up in Taiwan and have spent one year living in China so I’m familiar with Mandarin used in both China and Taiwan. I will help students by creating as much speaking practices as possible and providing guides and tips for their self-learning.
