I left another career about 11 years ago when my Venezuelan wife and I moved back to her home country, and there I also happily returned to my first career of teaching ESL. I began teaching there at the university level at the Universidad Arturo Michelena, but then realized I felt called to tutoring one student at a time. In March of 2019, at the urging of the US embassy in Venezuela, and suddenly with no internet, my wife and I had to return to the US. The good news for students is that we have 300-330 Mega speed internet with cable so the audio and video are of excellent quality! ---Many of my students were/are preparing for TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, NATO, or Trinity exams etc. so I have experience helping there. I am currently on module 4 out of 5 with the ICAL TEFL institute based in London for certification in TEFL, but honestly have not been in a hurry since much of TEFL certification deals with classroom, small group, and pairs work, things that are not very relevant to one on one tutoring. If you want to know my qualifications, I suggest reading the comments of my students. They are the best judges of tutor quality. If you need help with exam preparation, CV editing, job interviews, pronunciation, presentations, conversation, grammar, etc. I'd be glad to help. Best of luck to you in your English studies, and remember never get discouraged! The key is hard work, lots of patience and determination. Cheers!
