Hello! I am excited to join you at Verbling! First I will tell you a bit about my academic background and tutoring experience. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. I have also worked as a tutor for a number of years. I have loved tutoring in all subjects up to the college level. My favorite subject to teach has always been English. I enjoy helping with writing, developing conversational skills, and improving reading. I have worked with a number of ESL students from various countries including Japan, Korea, Brazil, Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. It has been a joy to conduct these lessons with my students, and I look forward to all the future ones to come! Now about my teaching style. :) If I had to use one word to describe my teaching style it would be ENCOURAGING. I love to give praise and always focus on growth. I also love to promote taking positive risks and trying new things, even though they may seem scary at first. In the past I...

My name is Todd. I started teaching because of my love of traveling and learning about other people's cultures. I was born in Cincinnati, OH. So if you study with me, you would be learning English from a Native-English speaker. I graduated from the International TEFL Academy where I earned my certification to teach English as a foreign language. In addition to Teaching, I am also an Artist. I love to paint and draw. I use these skills in my lessons. I enjoy the creativity of designing exercises and activities. It is my belief that the more senses that are involved in the learning process; the more English will be understood and easily grasped.

I’m Kevin Palmer. in 2002, at my first teaching job, I had a student named Ning. Ning was wonderful. She was intelligent, friendly, and she worked hard. Every day she studied English textbooks for 4 hours! She tried to remember 50 new vocabulary words every day! But, after 6 months of hard work, she still could not speak. Sadly, this was true for all of the students in the class. I felt terrible. So I asked other teachers for help. But they had the same problem.. very few of their students improved either. That’s when I realized something was wrong– something is wrong with normal English teaching methods. I wanted to help all of the happy, friendly, intelligent, wonderful students like Ning– and I decided I would find an answer. I would find a way to help my students speak English powerfully. For many years, I studied books about English teaching. I constantly tried new methods in my classes. I read research studies. Eventually, I found incredible new methods. I was so excited! ...

I have a B,A. in Biology and a M.A. in Math Education. I taught math, science and computers for 21 years at the junior high and high school levels and I taught computers to business students at the college level.. Once I retired, I began teaching English to students since I moved to Mexico and people were asking for help with their language skills. I am learning a new language so I understand the difficulties people face and that makes me a compassionate and caring teacher. I also have a great sense of humor.

I'm a certified English tutor (TESOL) and a University Teaching Assistant/ PhD Candidate. I have an Engineering and Business background(Petroleum Engineering) with Master's and Bachelor's Degree. I also prepare people for IELTS, TOEFL, CAE and other English Test examinations as well as BUSINESS ENGLISH. To say that I love Teaching will be an understatement. My whole life currently is centered around teaching as I spend the most part of my day teaching university students. My future goal is to work as a University Professor. Teaching a language, unlike teaching technical subjects requires patience, varying techniques and methods that are student-centered and that is one of the reasons I love doing this. It encapsulates the efficient use of the five main senses of human beings and how proper channeling of it can produce a 'wow' effect. I usually take my students through the 4 main skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening). Students will practice pronunciations, intonations , a...

Hi, my name's Dale. I'm here to help you on your journey towards speaking excellent English. I enjoy cooking, reading, practising yoga, travelling, and learning about other cultures. At the beginning of 2015, I decided to start learning Spanish. Instantly I was hooked on the process of learning a new language and experimenting with all the different methods and tools that exist for language students. During this time, I also became more passionate about my Native language: English, and I started to help out at an informal English group held weekly by 5 or 6 non-native English speakers from my workplace. I then decided to take a TEFL qualification and take my teaching a little further... I'm patient and easy going, and I like to create a relaxed and friendly environment when giving lessons, in my experience, this helps to build student's confidence and leads to better results. I offer conversational classes; this is an excellent way to discover weaknesses in your English that...

Sign up now and get great classes from a teacher with over 2 decades of experience. Hi, Thanks for looking at my bio. I have been teaching ESL for over 20 years (two years as a volunteer in Chicago) and 18 years in Mexico City. My specialities are listening and speaking. If you feel frustrated trying to understand spoken English, I can help you just as I've helped so many others through the years. If you have difficulty with pronunciation or speaking fluently, I know exactly how to help you. My classes don't involve much writing. We spend our time speaking and listening. If you're like me and believe that practice is more important than memorization, take a look at my video or schedule a free sample class. I'd love to hear form you.
