Hello! I am a professional teacher with a LM degree and years of online teaching experience with adults and children aged eight and over. During our classes we can focus on different activities depending on your level and your needing. For example I can offer you a targeted course to prepare an Italian exam, teach you Italian starting from the basics, help you improve your level and make conversation. I was preparing a lesson for a student of mine, when I found myself struggling with a translation. The word was “cavare”. «Pull out» I thought. But then… was there a better word? “Cavare”, in Italian, doesn’t only mean “to pull out”, that would be “estrarre”, “tirar fuori”, “rimuovere” or something else. “Cavare” has the word “cavità” (cavity) in it. “Cavare” means “to extract from a cavity”, “to remove and leave a cavity” and I couldn’t find a single word in English that suited the perfect meaning. This happens to me all the time, as I speak three languages daily and I am a “word perfectionist”: I am fascinated by the meaning that every word can have, those little shades of significance that can only be understood by those who profoundly study a language. Hi, My name is Tina and I live in Rome. I have two degrees one in Italian Literature Philosophy and another in Art History. I taught Italian to children of all ages, I really enjoyed teaching but I accepted a job offer to become a civil servant for Rome City Hall, looking after the Roman heritage and becoming the director of the Medicine History Museum of Rome. I have recently retired and with some spare time in my hands, I went back to my true vocation: teaching. I now teach Italian to students whose first language is not Italian. My speciality is indeed languages, in fact I have a diploma in Languages.I also obtained a certificate of internship in teaching Italian as L2 I offer Italian conversation lessons to anyone who wishes to learn, improve and practice their italian, both for personal and professional reasons. I usually work this way: - one full hour of conversation (dictation, reading role-plays, educational games ). I also give homework at the end of the lesson, in order for the student to keep on practicing outside the classroom. I also correct the homework and return in it with feedback either via email or during the next lesson.
