Hello, Verbling Friends. My name is Bill. I have been teaching Korean to beginners online and offline for 3 years. I graduated from Cameron University, Oklahoma, USA. My major is called International Languages which the students choose two foreign languages to study. I speak English, Korean, and Spanish. I have various experiences of language learning. So, I understand how frustrating language learning is whenever students face problems and their language skill is not being improved. My teaching program has four sections. Each program also has particular materials for students. You can choose one of them for your lessons below: 1. Regular Course: it covers all parts of learning from the beginning: reading, grammar, speaking, listening, and writing. 2. Focus on Grammar: If you have some knowledge of Korean and want to recall what you learned, this is the good option to choose. 3. Pronunciation Doctor: this is for someone who is not confident with their Korean pronunciation. I use a book that helps learners improve their pronunciation. We listen audio files and practice together during the lesson. 4. Free conversation: In this section, we talk to each other freely in Korean. I deliberately speak slowly to students so that they become confident of their listening, understanding, and eventually speaking. My philosophy for language learning is simple: it should be funny. The reason why is that it requires long hours of practice and repetition. Sometimes, students lose their interest in learning more, but when you begin to speak, understand the language, and deliver your message to native speakers, the feeling is amazing. Trust me. I saw many people who challenge other languages afterwards. I am also one of them. Please feel free to ask, and do not hesitate to make class reservation. Thanks all! See you soon!

Hello! I am Meena from South Korea. I am a professional Korean teacher and passionate language learner. I completed a program on teaching Korean in grad school and since 2013 I’ve been teaching many students from different backgrounds. The majority of my students work in business in Korea but I’m also teaching kids at the moment. I also taught in a Korean Language school in Canada for several months. *My thoughts on learning languages Since my passion is languages, I spend a lot of time watching polyglots’ videos in which they talk about effective ways for learning languages. They have different points of view regarding studying grammar, using flash cards, when to start practicing speaking and so on but one thing they all agree is that you need to do it every day. I couldn’t agree more on this point because I had amazing Spanish teachers before but I didn’t practice every day even though I enjoyed their classes. As a result, I remained in beginner level. *My goal for you, how to get most out of my Korean class What I can help you with is to reach you intermediate level in which you would be able to have daily, casual conversation without any major discomfort. I’m offering you more than just one hour class a week, which means you should do homework after class. I have a system where, aside from our weekly one hour class, you need to commit 10 min a day or more depending on how motivated you are to speak Korean naturally without spending too much time having to recollect what you learned. (Homework can be different depending on goals but the main idea of homework is to have you create relevant content based on what we covered in our previous session and to practice many times to get used to using the language.)
