My name is June, and I'm a native Mandarin speaker from Taiwan with four years of Chinese teaching experience. My classes are conducted primarily in Mandarin — I speak Mandarin, and so do my students. This applies to beginner lessons as well, as immersion helps you start thinking in the language naturally, without relying on translation. I was born and raised in Taiwan, so I speak with a standard Taiwan Mandarin accent, what's considered a Southern accent, which means you won't hear the "er" suffix common in Northern dialects. I teach Traditional Chinese characters, though typing-focused lessons can also accommodate Simplified Chinese. Teaching Chinese is my passion. I am very responsible, detail-oriented and skilled in time management. I am very patient and would love to share my native language with you. I have been teaching for over 17 years and have taught one-on-one lessons to more than 400 international students varying in age and levels. Teaching in universities has contributed a lot to my ability to teach a class efficiently, communicate well, control the environment and adjust properly to meet the students’ needs.
