I'm Hugo, from Vigo — a city on the Atlantic coast of Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. I've been teaching Spanish for ten years, to students from over 30 countries, and I still find it one of the most interesting things I do. Languages have always been central to my life. I've lived, studied and worked in Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Canada — and those experiences shaped the way I teach more than any certificate did. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked in engineering, hospitality and education. At some point I stopped pretending those were leading somewhere else. My lessons are personal, flexible and human. I don't give the same class to every student. I try to understand who you are, how you learn, what you need and what kind of relationship you want to have with Spanish — and I build from there. Some students come for conversation and fluency. Others need structure, grammar, confidence, pronunciation or long-term guidance. Some need all of it in different proportion...

¡Hola! I’m a certified Spanish teacher with a passion for grammar and natural conversation. I specialize in helping adults (from A1 to C2) build confidence, using my patience and flexibility to ensure that every class is relaxed and effective. My background in Art and Philosophy, combined with my 10 years of Afro-Latin percussion, allows me to enrich lessons with cultural and artistic contexts. Additionally, I have a keen interest in alternative medicine, psychotherapy, and birdwatching—topics that can also be incorporated into our conversations to make learning more personal and engaging. We’ll learn through hands-on exercises and positive energy!
