My name is Isabel Estrada and I am a highly qualified and dedicated foreign languages professional. I was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, studied in Spain and Germany, and have lived and taught in various other parts of the world, giving me ample experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language in local, international and multicultural contexts. Currently, I live in Lisbon, Portugal, where I am studying the Portuguese language and giving private Spanish classes, both in person and through online platforms. I’m a friendly person and as a teacher I strive to give students a challenging but supportive experience that helps them to improve their confidence to communicate in Spanish and learn more about the language and the diverse cultures connected to it. Soy Beatriz, tengo 36 años, y enseño español hace 7 años, desde las primeras palabras del idioma, después preparando estudiantes para el DELE, o alistándolos para estudiar, trabajar y/o viajar. Tengo un grado en Letras hispánicas (de literatura y lingüística) de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, una universidad muy exigente en mi país natal, Chile. Hice además un semestre en Universidad Alcalá de Henares, España, donde aprendí mucho de enseñanza de segunda lengua. Para enseñar utilizo un enfoque comunicativo, normalmente presentando una situación, luego una explicación de vocabulario y gramática, para finalmente hacer ejercicios de conversación. Aprender un idioma es una tarea muy desafiante, en la que todos nos equivocamos al principio, pero que abre muchas posibilidades de conocer culturas y lugares, de estudio, económicas y además es un excelente ejercicio para tu mente.
