After leaving Taiwan, I moved on to Honolulu, where I again found employment as an ESL instructor. This stint was brief because of my desire to attend graduate school in San Francisco, where I studied Mandarin and began teaching test prep. For 16 years (2005-2021) I was the English Department Head at Elite Educational Institute, a test prep company.
