My name is Americo, and I am your "Old Soul" Italian Tutor. I am 41 years old and originally from Latina (Lazio), but I currently live in the stunning medieval city of Lucca, in Tuscany.
I am a CEDILS and TEFL certified teacher with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature. I have been teaching Italian as a second language since 2017, assisting students from 37 different countries and using English and Spanish as bridge languages.
Before dedicating myself to teaching, I lived and worked across Europe (UK, Spain, Germany), an experience that has given me strong intercultural sensitivity. I speak fluent English and Spanish, and basic French.
🎸 Fun Fact: Besides travel, I am a huge fan of 60s and 70s music, and I adore everything vintage. It is precisely because of this passion that my students love calling me an "Old Soul Teacher".

Mission: I consider myself an ambassador of Italian culture. I have helped Italian-Americans rediscover their roots and expats integrate perfectly into life in Italy.
Seeing my students achieve their dreams—whether it’s completing their studies, starting a business, or enjoying their retirement in Italy—is my greatest professional satisfaction.
📚 Our Sessions
I offer structured paths for all levels (A1-C1), following an original syllabus created by me. Each lesson lasts 55 minutes and is organised as follows:
🗣️ Conversation (20-30 min): We always start by "breaking the ice." We will talk about you and your life naturally, focusing on functional language for everyday situations.
📖 Grammar & Practice (20-30 min): We will discover new rules through dialogues and readings, then immediately apply them with practical exercises based on real-life scenarios.
Materials Included: I will provide all PDF materials, including personalised lesson plans.
On a rotation basis, we will enrich the course with special activities:
🎭 Role-play: Simulations of daily life and travel situations.
🗺️ Culture & Territory: Discovering Italian regions through my exclusive local guides in PDF.
📰 Reading & Pronunciation: Articles on Italian culture to improve comprehension.
🤌 Idioms: Quizzes and games to learn how to speak like a true native.
✍️ Writing: Short creative assignments.
