How would you translate the phrasal verb "to tag along" in Spanish?

I am trying to figure out what the translation in Spanish is for the phrasal verb "to tag along."

It basically means to accompany  someone wherever he or she is going.

I'm not sure if :accompañar" would be the best word to use or if I should use another one.  Thanks for your help.
