Hola, my name is José, I am from Barcelona (Spain) and I am Spanish teacher for foreigners since 2015. I am currently living in Boston, where I work as Spanish Heritage teacher in the British International School. In the past, I have worked in different schools in Barcelona, London, Zürich and also as online teacher with students from all over the world. Even if I finished Journalism at the University, I decided to do a Spanish Training Course to become a teacher because I found that teaching is my true professional vocation. I like learning about other cultures and helping everyone who wants to learn my language and the Spanish and Latin-American worlds. My way of teaching is always based on communication. I discover I wanted to be a full time teacher when I moved to Poland and started teaching sporadically. After I came back to Spain I took a course on teaching skills and started to teach independently. And I loved it! The more I taught the more I liked. I still love teaching cause I understand my culture better and the way Spanish people think. I find that fascinating. To me, explaining why we would say things in a certain way because of our culture is the best bit. Be sure you will always have contact with the real culture during our lessons. I usually take a coaching approach. That means we will set goals and every week we will review what we've done so far and what we can do next. My students are the ones that choose the pace they want to learn, I only guide them through the whole journey.
