About Me
Hello world!
My name is Bojana, and I am from Serbia. Not only am I a native speaker, but I also have a degree. I hold a bachelor's degree in Serbian literature and language. I am also enrolled in a master's program at the University of Belgrade, where I am studying Serbian grammar and teaching methodology. I speak Serbian, English, and have only recently begun learning Spanish.
My true loves are language teaching and learning. I particularly enjoy teaching adults and beginners. It fills me with joy and pride to hear and see my students speak Serbian for the first time in their lives! That is when I realize I have made a link between them and their Balkan relatives or helped them order the first meal in Serbia/Montenegro on their own. That is a truly priceless moment!
When I am not teaching, I like to watch Netflix or explore small towns in Serbia.
My approach is based on the fact that each student requires a different method. If there are real conditions for it, I try to follow my student's needs and wishes. I am very patient, especially with beginners. I try to create a friendly environment in which the student feels free to talk, make mistakes, and ask questions. Aside from textbooks, I like to use interactive exercises, quizzes, presentations, and homework if my students agree. It is crucial for me to start using Serbian from the very beginning and to develop all skills simultaneously - listening, writing, speaking, and grammar.
