Hello everyone! Nice to meet you — I’m Mariko.
I was born and raised in Tokyo, and I speak standard Japanese. I’m a certified Japanese language teacher.
I taught Japanese at a language school in Tokyo for three years, and I now offer online lessons.
Besides Japanese, I speak Chinese and English, and a little Italian. I’ve also worked for many years in the travel industry and on World Expo projects in Shanghai, Milan, and Osaka.
Learning a new language is a lot of fun, but it can be challenging sometimes, too.
What made you want to start learning Japanese?

★ About My Lessons ★
Beginners are very welcome, including those learning Japanese for the first time.
Lessons are available for Hiragana, Katakana, beginner, intermediate, and business Japanese levels.
Textbook-based lessons are available
(e.g. MINNA NO NIHONGO, MARUGOTO, GENKI, NIHONGO FUN & EASY).
Open conversation lessons are also offered. Through conversation, you can learn correct grammar, useful vocabulary, and natural expressions.
Lessons are mainly conducted in Japanese. However, if something is difficult to understand, I can explain it in English or Italian. Please don’t worry.
※ Please note that lessons may include a short break of up to 5 minutes.
【Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy】
If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please let me know as soon as possible.
Cancellations or schedule changes made within 24 hours of the lesson will be charged the full lesson fee.
