About Me
My name is Joshua Mshani, I was born and grown up in Tanzania.
I'm a Swahili teacher certified by the National Kiswahili Council of Tanzania (BAKITA) to teach Swahili language and culture to foreigners.
I have been teaching Swahili for more than seven years now, both face to face and online classes.
I have been teaching individual students and those who are under different institutions, such as tourists, Embassy staffs (diplomats), business men, and those who are coming as for settlements. For example I have taught Polish ambassador in Tanzania and other staffs, Norwegian Ambassador in Tanzania and other staffs , UN staffs, banks staffs such as First National Bank (FNB), Standard Chartered, International School of Tanganyika (IST), CCBRT hospital, DFID, European Union, GIZ, Fillip Morris International, SOAS university of London students and so many others.
I teach Swahili all levels Beginner, intermediate, High intermediate and Advance.
In my teaching First thing I normally try to know the level of the student. When I know the levels is when how and where start the lesson. To know the level of the student I have the list of topics for all levels, for that I will start the conversations based on the topics until I know the level.
The style of teaching will always vary depending on the level and sometimes the learning speed of students. Example I teach grammar, I use reading stories, story picture, Audio and sometimes going to the related place of the lesson concern. Example going to the marked for the lesson of buying and selling and Cultural things.
