I’m Nicole, and I was born and raised in Guangzhou, a stone’s throw from Hong Kong. I've taught 6000+ lessons and have many regular students.
I am passionate about languages, traveling, learning, dancing and food. I'm teaching full-time meanwhile living&traveling around the world.
I have been to 29 countries, mostly as a solo backpacker, and would love to share and know different cultures. I keep my lesson practical, flexible and interesting and I can communicate with students in Mandarin, English and Cantonese fluently.
I speak Mandarin with standard accent, if you study with me you will have no trouble making yourself understood anywhere in China.
I love to meet different people and I particularly enjoy supporting my students on their journey of learning Chinese.
Me as a Teacher
I have several years of teaching experience and taught many students from beginner to intermediates both in Mandarin and Cantonese, either with textbooks (I select the useful expressions and also I can have class with your own book), or with informal conversations (I prepare some topics or topics you like) or a mix of both.
My teaching philosophy is that your specific individual needs, learning style, and language learning goals should be what determine the optimum teaching and learning strategy for you.
You are welcome to give me feedback about the class and I'm glad to adjust my teaching approach to better help you achieve your goals with the target languages.
【My Lessons & Teaching Style】
-Before our class, I spend some time to know your learning purpose, language level, preferred method and prepare the class accordingly.
-In the class, I will encourage you to speak Chinese as much as possible and make your own sentences while I correct your pronunciation and grammar mistakes and write them down as well as new words for review, and also provide you with helpful feedback and tips for improvement.
-After the class, I provide you with audio, video or paper materials and assign homework if you wish.
