About Me
Hi!
My name is Sarah. I am a native Dane and I've worked as a Danish teacher since 2018. I have a Master's degree in Danish from the University of Southern Denmark, and I am trained in second-language learning and acquisition from Copenhagen University.
I inherited my love for Danish and Ancient languages from my paternal grandmother, who was a Danish and History teacher herself for many years. With her, I developed a profound interest in teaching, and when I was about to finish Upper Secondary School, I knew that I wanted to do a Master's in Danish literature and Latin language.
I had to study Latin almost on my own because very few people wanted to study it. I often felt stuck and thought about quitting, but I tried to find the patience and I explored different methods to learn. As a person, I am very patient, and it is important for me that you feel comfortable showing me your difficulties and giving your opinion.
Before teaching Danish online, I worked as a teaching assistant in an undergraduate introductory course in Danish language, culture, and history as part of an internship at Lund University. I have also worked pro-bono as a teaching assistant in classical Latin at Kitas Gymnasium.
I am looking forward to hearing from you!
PD: I can teach groups of two for the same price. This is useful if, for instance, you have a family member who also wants to learn Danish.
