I am the best pronunciation coach you're going to find on this site. I know it sounds arrogant, but I truly believe in my abilities. Most teachers teach pronunciation from the point of view of someone who has been studying it as a science, but I know that not all of my students are as nerdy as I am. I learn the hard stuff, so I can rephrase it in easy-to-replicate pieces for you.
As a pronunciation coach, I teach the aspects of a standard American accent. I am a believer that no accent is better than any other. We all have accents. And I want you to learn how to embrace yours while we learn how to make these new sounds. You must learn to love yourself before you learn to change yourself.
It's important for us to be realistic about your progress. Changing pronunciation is not something that happens overnight. It takes daily practice.
After assessing the way you speak, I'll put together a list of sounds (consonants and vowels) that I'd like to work on with you. After learning those, we'll practice rhythm and everyone's favorite, connected speech. For homework, I expect you to record yourself saying the practice words and phrases we went over in class. This homework is the most important part of the process because it gives us a reference point so we can measure your progress. I'll include the necessary recordings of myself so you can listen and practice as well.
Together, we can master these sounds, but it's up to you to make the first step. Before scheduling our first lesson, send me a message introducing yourself. BE SPECIFIC about your goals. The more the tell me, the more capable I'll be of helping you!
