I'm Jeremy from the US. I hold 4 certifications in English language education (2 TEFL and 2 TESOL). I have a MA in History from the University of London, a BA in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts, and an Associates in Foreign Languages. With experience as a professional writer, editor, and English instructor since 2016, I've taught students of all levels and ages globally. My writing has been published worldwide and I've contributed to editing academic journals.
English proficiency goes beyond grammar and style. Culture and history are key for navigating the world. From Canada to Singapore, Guyana to South Africa, the Anglophone world is vast! With me, you'll focus on Standard American English while also gaining insights into the broader language and its speakers. English is a global language but also features idioms, slang, and figurative expressions that are unique to certain places, times, and people. Note that English cannot be separated from the lives of its speakers. Understanding and using the language in context is what practical language learning is all about.
My teaching emphasizes real-world usage and encourages students to become independent learners while incorporating cultural and historical insights into the English language and its people. I adapt my lessons to meet individual student needs. If you have questions, just ask!

I assess your current English proficiency level and determine your language needs and goals. Based on the assessment and my methodologies, we agree on a lesson plan tailored to your needs and goals. At the end of the lesson, I provide feedback. The goal of the trial lesson is to provide a taste of my teaching style, assess your language abilities, and help you determine if you would like to continue working with me.
