Geogian Christmas tree

Did you know that Georgia has its own Georgian New Year tree? It is called Chichilaki. It is cut from a branch of a tree and it looks like a Christmas tree. After the new year, chichilaki are burned or thrown into the river, hoping that all bad things will go away and the year will be successful. Do you have New Year traditions in your country?
