German Word of the Day (4) Das Hamsterrad (Hamster Wheel)
5 years agoWe have two definitions for the "Hamsterrad".
1. It´s a cage wheel for animals like hamsters. They can move ´freely´ in their treadmill.
2. Mostly we use this word for a boring and monotonous job. Day in and day out the same
routine. A lot of guide-books are published and offer tips how to find a way out.
So you find many titles like "Wege aus dem Job-Alltag" or "Raus aus dem Hamsterrad".
