Himself vs Hisself

Hmmm, yesterday my student asked me what´s the difference between himself and hisself, themselves and theirselves, and does itself have 2 ´s´? The last question was easy but the first...I'm still pondering. Logically (if it's possible to apply logic to the English language grammar system!) myself, yourself, ourselves, herself, itself use the possessive adjective so why not hisself and theirselves? I know that myself has no meaning of possession, so here´s my question (and yes I could look it up myself but thought it would be interesting to hear others opinion on this matter!)

How come himself and themselves don't follow the pattern?

Enjoy!
