IELTS/TOEFL

Idioms and Phrasal Verbs can be very helpful tools in understanding a conversation and impressing the examiner of an IELTS or TOEFL test. Some common ones are: drop off, pull up, in the red, the black market, out of the blue. Which ones have you learned? Can you share a situation when you found them to be helpful? The more I teach the more aware I am of these phrases in conversation:-) Hope you do as well, as I can certainly understand how one can get confused.
