What kind of educational system do you think works best?
6 years agoIt seems that in Korean high schools as well as in many other Asian schools high grades are achieved by long hours of study with a particular focus on memorisation, and are at the top of PISA rankings (comparing different countries' exam results)
In contrast Finnish school systems have few hours of school and often no homework. The focus seems to be less on memorisation of material and more on reasoning and deduction.
Both systems are almost polar-opposites but seem to both produce very high rankings.
In your opinion which approach do you think is better and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
This is purely out of interest, I'd love to hear your opinions.
