Why are YOU learning a second language? what are YOUR true motivations?
6 years agoAre you learning English because you want a good job? OR are you learning it because you have fun doing it?
If you are learning English to get a reward, like the TEFL certificate or because someone else wants you to learn English then you are extrinsically motivated.
If you are learning English because you find it challenging or you want to improve yourself then you're intrinsically motivated.
Intrinsic motivation is for:
- self improvement
- curiosity
- It's challenging/ enjoyable/ exciting etc.
Extrinsic motivation is for:
- job opportunities
- to get a certificate
- because your parents/ boss told you to
So how are YOU motivated intrinsically or extrinsically?
