You may already know a great deal of English. The real challenge is using it when it matters: explaining an idea at work, joining a fast conversation, handling everyday life in an English-speaking country, or simply sounding like yourself instead of translating everything in your head.
I help adults, young professionals, people living abroad, young adults and motivated teenagers turn the English they know into confident, flexible communication.
This is English for people who think.
I’m Denis, a British English teacher with 17 years of experience, a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and a CELTA qualification. Since 2017, I have taught more than 10,000 online lessons to students from around the world.

WHAT DO MY LESSONS FEEL LIKE?
Relaxed, personal, flexible and stimulating.
There is freedom to speak, explore and follow interesting questions, but the lesson is never directionless. I listen carefully to how you communicate and notice where your vocabulary, grammar or pronunciation becomes less certain. We then work on those areas naturally, without turning every conversation into an examination.
Conversation is central, but it is not just casual talking. You will receive thoughtful corrections, practical explanations and new ways to express what you really mean.
I enjoy bringing fascinating topics, images, articles and ideas into lessons. We might explore one subject for several sessions, gradually developing your vocabulary and confidence while looking at it from different perspectives. My aim is not simply to keep you talking. I want to give you something worth talking about.
Your lessons can include:
• Workplace communication and professional English
• Everyday English for living abroad
• Structured conversation and vocabulary development
• Grammar and pronunciation based on your real needs
• Articles, images, presentations and thought-provoking topics
• Optional writing, preparation and homework between lessons
There is no generic course that every student must follow. Some students want a clear structure and regular homework. Others make better progress through conversation, correction and carefully chosen materials. We will find the balance that works for you.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I am naturally calm, curious and interested in how people think. I enjoy conversations that go somewhere, especially when they reveal a new idea, an unexpected connection or a different way of seeing something familiar.
Language, culture, history, literature, psychology, work and the changing world all find their way into my lessons. I take your progress seriously, but I do not believe learning has to feel serious all the time.
I have also studied Spanish, Italian, Polish, German and French. I know the strange frustration of having a complete thought in your mind and only half the language needed to express it.
That gap can be closed.
My goal is to help you find the words, confidence and control to communicate as yourself in English.

During our 30-minute trial lesson, we will spend the first 15 minutes discussing your goals, your experience with English and the areas you would most like to improve. I will also ask you a few questions to get a clear sense of your current speaking skills.
For the remaining 15 minutes, we will try a short activity using materials that could form part of your future lessons. This will give you a genuine feel for my teaching style and help us decide what approach would work best for you.
