Coupon available for students (message me for the code and explanation) if you buy a package of 5 classes. My name is Mary and I have been teaching ESL for four and a half years. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Ohio University (USA) in 2013 with a minor in Linguistics and a TEFL Certification. I then worked for a non-profit organization, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, teaching English to refugees from all over the world. After this position, I travelled to Cuenca, Ecuador and taught for a non-profit organization, CEDEI, for a year and a half. Both job experiences I had in this field prior did not have a lot of options for technology in the classroom but when I can I like to include articles, videos, speeches, use of Microsoft word in the classroom. I have now been teaching on Verbling Inc. for more than a year. I am very excited to continue teaching online to open up the possibilities to have a multi-media classroom. I also think that speaking and listening are the key to fluency and like to put strong emphasis on speaking practice: debates, conversation, and presentations. I also have experience with teaching paragraph structure, essay structure, and different styles of essays. I have taught grammar at all levels, also. I try to keep classes interesting with a mixture of activities and with minimal stress but well rounded knowledge of the language. My policy for missed lessons: I will wait 10 minutes for a student to arrive. If it is the first (or second for regular students) missed class and the student messages me with a reason, I will unschedule the lesson so that the student can reschedule. If this happens more than once or twice I will keep the payment for the wait time and preparation. I understand things happen, so I will forgive, once or twice of course, but I also prepare for the lessons and this is my full time job.

My name is Kelsey and I am a native English speaker from Ohio, USA. Currently, I am located in Seattle, Washington bringing my love of teaching to elementary youth in the local schools. I have been teaching for 5 years within Washington State. I have experience teaching non native English speakers as well as children with language delays. Teaching English to students with language delays has taught me to break down the English language into simplified terms so that the speaker has more success in their learning of how to speak and understand English. I have experience teaching conversational English as well as English that you will need while traveling or just in daily life. We can work on pronunciation, intonation, idioms, and colloquials as they are all a bonus specialty of mine. When you book a lesson, let me know your level of English (beginner, intermediate) and also how you prefer to learn. As a teacher, I am accommodating to your goals and learning style. Let's have a conversation and figure out the best way for you to learn English!

Hi there, my name is Alex! I’ve been helping motivated students to improve their English to a higher level since 2009 in London. I hold a TEFL certification in teaching English to ESL students. I currently teach students in the lovely city of Paris and enjoy engaging with them as they discover this wonderful language of ours. I’ve also been teaching online for the last two years. I strongly believe that the most effective way to work with a student is if they are highly motivated and have ACTIONABLE GOALS to reach when learning the English language. I also believe that it is essential for a person learning English is having an enviroment which obligates you to learn (no matter what ever else is going on in your life at the moment) I believe that learning to improve and speak faster is all down to being willing to jump in and get into the language very quickly in a fun yet disciplined kind of way. Oh, one other thing. It helps if you actually like the language, the culture and are fascinated by it in general!

Hello, my name is Steven. I'm from Manchester, England. I have a Cambridge CELTA qualification and have been teaching English since 2012. I first taught in Japan and then Spain and now teach online. My teaching style is to have natural conversations about topics that you find interesting. After the lesson I will give you personalised notes to work on your weaknesses in English. I'll give you homework on these topics so you improve and don't keep making the same mistakes. In my opinion natural conversations often have useful parts of English that text books don't teach. I will point these out to you in the lesson. We can focus on a different grammar point each lesson too. For example, the past perfect tense. Or we can practice using different grammar together. For example, using the imperfect and past simple to tell a story. I love learning about different cultures which is why I find English teaching so interesting. Please share your culture with me and convince me to visit your home country :) I've been very lucky to be able to travel to lots of countries in Asia and Europe, also America and Uganda. Before teaching English I studied engineering at Cambridge University so I can help you with technical or university level English. Feel free to have a trial lesson to see if I can help you bring your English to the next level. Thanks for reading this far. Steven

Hi! My name is Marius and I am from South Africa. I have a level 6 certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), and I have acquired further English teaching certificates from Cambridge International Examinations and Oxford University Press through teacher training and development courses. I have a degree in Marketing Management and I am currently working towards my second degree in a bachelor of Science in Life Sciences while pursuing my other passion for teaching English. I have been teaching English professionally for more than five years and I have taught a variety of students with various capabilities from beginner to advanced. I began my English teaching career in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where I started out teaching in reputable language centres, then finally moving on to teach at well recognized international schools in the city. After three and a half years in Vietnam, I moved to Santiago, Chile and continued to teach for a further one and a half years. In Chile, I taught a variety of professionals looking to learn and improve their English language skills. Over the years, I have developed my English teaching skills by incorporating cutting-edge technology during lessons, as well as, designing and implementing lesson plans that are engaging and adapted to student's needs. I have been fortunate enough to live in and travel to many non-native English speaking countries, so I know the difficulties that come with learning a new language. Practicing a language through conversation is of vital importance, however, incorporating the conversation through a well-designed lesson plan adapted to students needs is just as important. I want to help you gain confidence, and see you progress your English language skills as you practice and learn more about the English language while also having fun! The benefits of learning and practising English are endless, from career advancement to travelling and meeting new and interesting people. Please contact me if you have any questions or specific goals you would like to meet, or if you would like to have a conversation and practice and develop the skills you already possess. Learning a new language is a journey, not a sprint and I look forward to going on the journey with you. I look forward to meeting you!
