I’m Kevin Palmer. in 2002, at my first teaching job, I had a student named Ning. Ning was wonderful. She was intelligent, friendly, and she worked hard. Every day she studied English textbooks for 4 hours! She tried to remember 50 new vocabulary words every day! But, after 6 months of hard work, she still could not speak. Sadly, this was true for all of the students in the class. I felt terrible. So I asked other teachers for help. But they had the same problem.. very few of their students improved either. That’s when I realized something was wrong– something is wrong with normal English teaching methods. I wanted to help all of the happy, friendly, intelligent, wonderful students like Ning– and I decided I would find an answer. I would find a way to help my students speak English powerfully. For many years, I studied books about English teaching. I constantly tried new methods in my classes. I read research studies. Eventually, I found incredible new methods. I was so excited! ...

I want to be your English exam coach! I specialize in getting students ready for exams, whether that be the TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, SSAT, GMAT, GRE, or others. I am an excellent essay writing and speaking coach, but I also guide students through the nuances of reading and listening. I understand the peculiarities of each of the different exams, and will create a course plan around your individual needs and goals. My teaching style is intense and focused on results. However, I am sensitive to an individual’s own learning peculiarities and personality. I use a range of different materials. Many of these are specific for the exam in question, but I also implement my own specific, customized materials to assist students learn and improve their skills. Although I am from the US state of Ohio, I lived in Central Asia for over 15 years. Still, I am easily accessible from a large number of time zones in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. I have a B.A. in Journalism, and an M.A....

Hi, my name's Dale. I'm here to help you on your journey towards speaking excellent English. I enjoy cooking, reading, practising yoga, travelling, and learning about other cultures. At the beginning of 2015, I decided to start learning Spanish. Instantly I was hooked on the process of learning a new language and experimenting with all the different methods and tools that exist for language students. During this time, I also became more passionate about my Native language: English, and I started to help out at an informal English group held weekly by 5 or 6 non-native English speakers from my workplace. I then decided to take a TEFL qualification and take my teaching a little further... I'm patient and easy going, and I like to create a relaxed and friendly environment when giving lessons, in my experience, this helps to build student's confidence and leads to better results. I offer conversational classes; this is an excellent way to discover weaknesses in your English that...

Hi, my name is Art, and I am a certified ESL tutor, and as of April 2, I am ranked #7 most popular tutor of English on Verbling out of 482, according to the Verbling website. That ranking is earned after teaching 1,114 students and 9456 classes here since May of 2015. Don't take my word for it; look it up. That ranking is based on honest student reviews, more than 4300 of them. You can't read over 4300 reviews, but reading a few, and knowing they add up to a #7 ranking out of hundreds, and a 5 star rating should tell you something. Listen to them... not me.--- Anyway, I started teaching ESL 40 years ago in Salamanca Spain, then continued part-time while also teaching Spanish as a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University where I received an M.A. in Hispanic Literature in 1988. I left another career about 14 years ago when my Venezuelan wife and I moved back to her home country, and there I also happily returned to my first career of teaching ESL. I began teaching a course a...

Hi, my name is Cooper White. I'm a native English Speaker, and I have a certificate in TEFL/TESOL. I've spent many years traveling around the world, which is where I got my inspiration to teach English. I'm also fluent in Spanish. I understand what it's like to learn a second language because I did it myself, first with Spanish, and more recently, with Mandarin Chinese. I can teach you English in Spanish! My method of teaching is very applied-we will have conversations, improv acting, read newspaper articles, listen to audio, and grammar lessons. I try to do all skills-speaking, listening, reading, pronunciation, grammar, writing, all in the same class. Also, I'm a professional musician as well-so my ears are very well trained to pick up accents. I've been told by many students that I am especially good at accent reduction. What are your language learning goals?

I'm a certified English tutor (TESOL) and a University Teaching Assistant/ PhD Candidate. I have an Engineering and Business background(Petroleum Engineering) with Master's and Bachelor's Degree. I also prepare people for IELTS, TOEFL, CAE and other English Test examinations as well as BUSINESS ENGLISH. To say that I love Teaching will be an understatement. My whole life currently is centered around teaching as I spend the most part of my day teaching university students. My future goal is to work as a University Professor. Teaching a language, unlike teaching technical subjects requires patience, varying techniques and methods that are student-centered and that is one of the reasons I love doing this. It encapsulates the efficient use of the five main senses of human beings and how proper channeling of it can produce a 'wow' effect. I usually take my students through the 4 main skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening). Students will practice pronunciations, intonations , a...
